1 O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? 2 How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day?..
3 Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the light to my eyes, or I will die.
5 But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. 6 I will sing to the LORD because he has been so good to me. Psalms 13:1-2a, 3, 5-6 (NLT)
Sometimes I feel that God is distant from me also. I struggle on and God seems far from me. What is happening? But David reminds us to hold fast to the truths we know. God’s unfailing love is constant; the Lord has saved me. His goodness is always with me whether I see it or not. What I see/perceive is a shadow of the reality of God’s love and goodness.
Lord, help me to never forget that your love and goodness are mine always; help me also to see glimpses of this in my day to day life ; and especially in my ‘dark nights’ of the soul. Amen.
