What’s God been teaching me lately?
Many “Christians” readily admit their sin. They need a Savior. They put their faith in Jesus, who died on the cross to bear the penalty for their sins (John 3:16). But then they stop there. No real change is seen in their lives.
True followers of Christ are “new creatures” (2 Corinth. 5:17). They take the next step — to make Jesus their Lord, their Master, the One that they live to please & serve & glorify (Romans 14:8). Not self. This involves a decision/commitment & a submission of their lives to God’s leading & control. They live for God’s purposes, looking to bear fruit for His glory, seeking first His Kingdom & His righteousness (Matt. 6:33). As for me & my household, we choose to follow/serve the Lord! (Joshua 24:14-15). Faith without action/deeds is dead (James 2:17,26). Let’s show our faith in Jesus by our loving actions, to help & encourage others, for God’s glory! Let’s be “dead to sin” & “alive to God” (Romans 6:11-14). Let’s resolve to not defile our bodies. To be pure (Daniel 1:8). I am now controlled by the Holy Spirit in me, not by my old sinful nature (Romans 8:9). I am a “living sacrifice” (Romans 12:1). For me, to live is Christ, to die is gain (Phil. 1:21).
