Who's Your Hero?
3 The godly people in the land are my true heroes! I take pleasure in them! Psalms 16:3 (NLT)
Who should our heroes be? A rock star? A movies star? A Wall Street tycoon? A great baseball player? A great humanitarian? A profound poet or philosopher? Police or firemen? Our young men and women in uniform? To be sure some of these are worthy of admiration and even imitation. We all have had heroes, our role models. Those people whose lives make us sit up and take notice; we want to be more like them. Sometimes they move us to action; or they can set for us too lofty a goal. It’s good to want to follow after those whose lives exemplify qualities we want to emulate.
David saw that those who live a godly life are the ones who were his true heroes. Those who just do the right thing and say the right thing and love others and struggle every day to be the person that God has called them to be.
God help me to live as a true hero to others by living a godly life.
